Nigel and his son Josh celebrate at the finish line

Big congratulations and an even bigger thank you to our London Marathon runner, Nigel Savory, who completed this year’s race on behalf of the XLL Trust in under four hours. An incredible personal achievement for Nigel who set a new personal best and one that will make a lasting impact on the children of the Summit Schools. Here’s what Nigel had to say after the event:

“I am pleased to share with you that I successfully completed the London Marathon on Sunday. I am sorry I did not win but I did race a personal best time of 3hrs 56 minutes. The London Marathon is one of the biggest marathons in the world with close to 40,000 runners. The weather was dry but cool, just perfect for running. The streets were absolutely full with people cheering and supporting the runners and the atmosphere was electric.

The winner was a Kenyan runner, Eliud Kipchoge, who completed the 42km in just 2hrs 4 minutes.

It was an honour to run for the XLL Trust and the Summit Schools and I look forward to meeting you all at some time in the future.

The very best wishes

Nigel”

At the time of posting Nigel’s fundraising total stands at £6,229.78 – if you would still like to donate it’s not too late! Nigel’s fundraising page can be found here.

Well done, Nigel!
